Research Notes

Note: On 4 June 1814, Shadrach Place of Hinesburg was named administrator of the estate of Thomas Place, late of St. George, deceased. On 11 November 1815, Shadrach Place of Shelburne, admin. of Thomas Place, late of St. George, paid $65 to Robert Place of St. George. (Hinesburg Land Evidence). He was "warned out" of Shelburne on 6 April 1816.
Althoug he gave his age as 66 in 1832/3 when he declared that he had been at the wedding of his sister, Nanny, to Joseph Wilcox, I have not been able to locate or corroborate this source. Both his enlistment papers (inferred) and interment record (listed) estimate his birth year as 1778.
