Nathan was born to Thomas Skeels and Prudence Skeel, in Kent Township, Litchfield, Connecticut, on September 22, 1747.[1]
He was baptized in Kent on 27 Nov 1748.[2]
Nathan married Lucy Lydia in 1773. They had 4 children: Prudence, Abiram, Nathan and Urania.
Marriage:
Nathan died on May 29, 1829, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.[3] .[4]

More History: The initial sketch of the Skeel family was obtained from Samuel Alvabel Skeele at the age of 81 years in the year 1853, and was given to Chipman Skeels in 1906 that is 25 years ago by his son, Andrew L. Skeele. His earliest information in regard to the name is that John’s two sons were John II and Thomas, who settled in Woodbury, Litchfield County, in the state of Connecticut. the old man, John I, and one son, Sergeant Thomas, died without issue. Ca 1755. 2)John III had 7 sons: 2A)Benjamin b. 1744, 2B)David bpt. 1746, 2C)John IV bpt. 1747, 2D)Amos b. 1750, 2E)Adoniram b. 1763, 2F)Gideon b. 1763 and 2G)Eliab b. 1767. A son of John III, named Amos, lived in the town of Problems, Cortland County, New York. 5)Samuel’s b. 1723 sons were 5A)William Belden b. 1751, 5B)Truman b. 1753, Samuel Jr. b. 1755, and 5D)Simeon bpt. 1859 posthumous. (Dr. Dorr C. Skeels is of this line). Samuel lived and died in the place of his birth, he died of Camp Distemper contracted in the French War under Lord Howe. Samuel’s sons: 5A)William Belden settled. On Shoreham, Addison County, Vermont and had one son Nelson b. 1802 who with his father moved to Ohio. 5B)Truman’s sons: 5B1)Aran b. 1779, 5B2)Belias H. b. 1782, 5B3)Simeon b. 1784 Vermont, 5B4)Reuben b. 1788 and 5B5)Harvey b. 1799. Truman left Essex County, New York in 1819 and settled in New Haven, Addison County, Vermont. Truman had one son Be.ias H. Who settled and lived in Worthington, Franklin County, Ohio and one son named Simeon who lived in the town of Mansfield, Cattaraugus County, New York. 5C)Samuel Jr. all that is known is that he lived on the old original homestead of his father Samuel Sr. 5D)Simeon bpt. 1759 posthumous settled in Marcellus, Onondaga County, New York. Simeon’s sons were 5D1)Truman b.1790, 5D2)Isaac. 1793-the first Isaac in John I’s line, 5 D3) Potter b. 1800 and 5D4)Wines Hurd b. 1803. Simeon had one son named Wines Hurd who lived in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.
The second Thomas b. 1711 had 5 sons: 1) David b. 1746, 2)Nathan b. 1747, 3)Thomas b. 1751, 3)Elijah b. 1753, and 4)Hiram b.1755. 1)David b. 1746, the son of the second Thomas b. 1711 settled in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, from thence to Wyoming Pennsylvania, and from thence to Ohio where David spent the rest of is days. David’s Sons were 1A)David Jr. born about 1768 and 2B)Jeduthan born about 1768 who were both supposed to have lived in Ohio
2)Nathan b. 1747 son of the second Thomas settled at Camillus, Onondago, County, New York. Nathan’s sons were 2A)Abiram b. 1774 and 2B)Nathan Jr. b. 1783. The whole family moved to Ohio. (At first Abiram was thought to be Abraham but Chipman Skeels Charts, 6th Edition 1931, stated that it was an error.) Thomas b. 1751 had 3 sons: 1)Rev. Samuel Alvabel b. 1772, 2)Thomas b. 1773, and 3)John Lee b. about 1783. Thomas Sr. Settled in Ira, Rutland County, Vermont. 1D)Elijah b. 1753 settled in Louisville, Lewis County, New York and practiced medicine. Elijah had 2 sons 1D1)Cephas b. 1779 and 1D2) Sylvanus b. 1781, who were supposed to have lived in Louisville. 4)Hiram Skeel settled near Homer Cortland Zcounty, New York but of him nothing more is known.
