Dugald Stewart (1st of Appin) was born about 1448 in Appin, Argyleshire, Scotland. He was the son of John Stewart and his 2nd wife an unknown Maclaren the daughter of MacLaren of Ardvech.
Dugald died about 1498 in Glenorchy, Scotland.
He married an unknown McDougall. They had issue:
- Duncan. b. 1470 - d. 1512.
- Allan. b. 1480 - d. 1562.
