Helen, aka Nellie, was born in 1893. She was the daughter of William Weber and Anna Asay.
Nellie married Elmer Henry Chafey in 1917 in Paxton, Ford county, Illinois. A short wedding article was published in the Piper City (Illinois) Journal:[1]
"CHAFEY -WEBER
Elmer Chafey and Miss Nellie Weber were married on Thursday, Jan. 25, by the Rev. Mr. Smith in Paxton and succeeded in keeping the wedding a secret from their friends until a few days ago. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Chafey of this city and his bride the youngest daughter of William C. Weber, southeast of town. The young folks have the best wishes of a wide circle of friends for a happy and prosperous life journey together. They will reside on a farm belonging to Mr. Chafey's father, two and a half miles south of La Hogue."
They had three daughters - Bonna Dell, Donna Jean, and Dorothy Arlene.
Nellie and her family were on the Thawville, Iroquois, Illinois census in 1920 and 1930.[2][3]
