Birth

Emilie was born on March 29, 1856 in the town of Wurchow in Kreis Neustettin of the Posen Province in Preussen(Prussia) to Michael Wilke and Marie (Neumann) Wilke. She was the seventh of their 9 children.^[1]

Immigration

On June 24, 1871, at the age of 15, Emilie and her parents, along with 3 siblings, arrived in New York aboard the S.S. Koln traveling from Bremen, Germany.^[2]

Family

On September 13, 1880, at the age of 24, Emilie married Ami Church (1851-1903) in Miles City, MT.^[3][4]
