Mary Woodroffe was born in 1790 in Normanton upon Soar (now Normanton on Soar), Nottinghamshire, England. She was the daughter of Solomon Woodroffe and Ann Cox. Mary was christened on 17 October 1790 at Normanton upon Soar, Nottinghamshire.^[1]

Mary married John Woodroffe in Normanton upon Soar, Nottinghamshire on 21 November 1811.^[2]
