BIography

Birth: Cumberland England Date: ca 1160-1165, another item from merged file was birth ABT 1167 in Barrow in Furness, Ulverston, Lancashire, England. That I haven't been able to research.

We have confirmed sources that list 3 children, of Thomas and Grace, and the sole daughter is named Ada (with several nicknames)

Ada De Workington (other names include Aline/Ada/Amabilla Workington, Ada Furneys, Ada de Furness)

In the period of her first marriage her last name would have been Fleming of Aldingham. Her last name during second marriage would have been Boteler, or le Boteler of Warrington.

Ada was born into a very titled and rich family ancestry. Her Father the 2nd lord of Workington's paternal grandparents were Orm of Kendal, lord of Seton, and Gunnilda Dunbar who received land grants from her generous brother Waltheof Dunbar. Thomas Lord of Workington was a great grandson of Gospatric Dunbar, who had descent from English and Scottish royalty & nobility, was for a period ruling as Earl, and had influence through all the border lands, from west to east,

Her father's maternal side was ruling Norman nobility. Her Mother Grace (of Ireby, of Galloway) is given as a grand daughter of Fergus of Galloway, with very likely the illegitimate descent from the King, and a father who had Culwen titled land. Ireby and Seaton along with Workington had also been in the prior generations.

Based on current dates, listed her father Thomas would have died prior to her marriage to William Boteler. Her Brother Thomas and her nephew Thomas also had died by 1200. Patrick and Ada were co-heirs, with Patrick the surviving sibling.

Children & Family Includes 2 Marriages

There is a good chance that there are family duplicates that will have to be merged. There also appear to be unsupported or incorrect profiles among children listed, that may be removed.

First spouse of Ada Workington, is William Fleming, (alternate names; le Fleming, Furness/Furneys, De_Furness). Fleming line on WikiTree is there with many duplications. William the spouse had a father Michael, and sons Micheal and William, births estimated before 1200,[1] with his death by 1202. Care should be taken the the duplicates that have a William of Michael in multiple genetations, with a hodgepodge of last names. are linked to the consolidated merged parents. I don't have a source for the marriage data in one of merged profiles— married 1196 of Aldingham, Lancashire. not a bad guess, probably married before 1196. Two or 3 surviving children. Then I think we have sources for 2 children 2nd marriage.

Her Dunbar family cousin Agnes Dunbar descendant of Gospatric II Dunbar, married Anselm Fleming, who was a brother of Ada's spouse William. The Fleming spouses, had pedigrees through the Lords of Kendal, and the Lancaster family. [1]

Fitz Thomas-1 and Workington-4 appear to represent the same person because: These are same person. they are listed as siblings. They are the same person. Workington-4 Bio makes clear that one of her nicknames was Aline. Whis should merge into Workington-4, Fitz Thomas-1 will not survive.

Three mergers are in process, Workington-4 is survivor. managers of Workington-6 should merge that also into Workinton-6

Kathy, you rejected my merge. Cospatrick-1 and Ada Workington-4, Boteller.

This needs to be approved. also need the merge approval of Workington-4 with De_Workington-6./I have been repairing a number in Dunbar and Workington areas. this is 3 profiles that all are SAME person, and I'm cleaning up all have different names of course but I am 100% certain, bet the ranch. Final survivor profile will be Workington-4. On Aline Bio it says that she has same husband, basically Ada also had that name. Michael was her son from 1st marriage. We have sources " This William le Fleming married [Ada or Aline (Pipe Roll, 1203-4) ] the daughter of [Thomas f. Cospatric (Fumess Coucher, ii, 788) ] by whom he had issue Michael le Fleming his Son and Heir" Names were all profiled differently. I will fis that

Cospatrick-1 and Workington-4 appear to represent the same person because: same person. Want Workingyon-4 as surviving profile name. Boteler was a name of second marriage. Ignore that right now.

Ada someties was addressed as Aline. we have sourcing . Ada first marriage was to William Flemming and first son was Michael Fleming.

All of those items are identicle for the same person. There will be more Flemings to clean up. Need the parent Ada and William done 1st

Cospatrick-1 and Workington-4 do not represent the same person because: No connection in sight.
Cospatrick-1 and Workington-4 appear to represent the same person because: Same individual duplicate, final surviving profile should be Workington-4, and I have pending a request that you also merge duplicate of De_Workington-6 into Workington-4,

First spouse of workinton-4 is William Fleming, there are also duplicates of this spouse and some of the children. A real tangle. Need to get this parent level clear before going to children. Please assist as we go thru this, I'm slow but will try to respond if you shout out.

Jay, I wanted to ask a favor and cooperation, on this profile.

I realize you adopted it in 2015. We need to execute a merger so that this duplicate is merged with Workington-4 and this one disappears and I will reedit all the necessary info after merge. It would greatly expidite and make it easy if you made me a manager on the trusted list.

I need to be on trusted list so that I can assure, we dont have any loose ends. There are duplicates of spouse and children, so it is a headache. I am actually cooordinating that there are 3 duplicates here with Workington-4 the end point. I AM PRE-1500 certified, so I can make necessary changes.

De Workington-6 and Workington-4 appear to represent the same person because: same parents, duplicate profiles. Final should be Workington-4, and get rid of De_Workington. There are duplicate but different spelled spouse profiles, for Flemming. Listed children will be tangled. Valid Fleming children are Michael, and probably William, questionable on others. Need to start clearing.

De Furnys-1 and Workington-4 appear to represent the same person because: Resubmitted as this was in unmerged state. Cleanup the profiles. They have the same parent, same first name, and similar last names. Neither have any real sources unfortunately.
