Biography

Loly was born in 1902. He was the son of George J and Sarah M (Cox) Yates. His siblings in the 1910 census were James Yates 20, Arkansas, Lawrance Yates 18, Arkansas, Rufus Yates 16 Arkansas, Anderson Yates 14 Arkansas, Frank Yates 12 Arkansas, Oma Yates 5 Arkansas, Ona Yates 5 Arkansas, Madge Yates 1 Arkansas, and Dora F Mattingly 22 Kentucky. Loly married Eleanore Dobrinski about 1928. Together they had three children: Dixie Leila Yates, Marjorie Yates, and Mildred Yates. Dixie and Mildred were born in Arkansas and Marjorie was born in Oklahoma. Loly and Norie were living in Arkansas in the 1930 census but had moved to Harris, Texas by the 1940 census. His occupation was as a carpenter. He died in 1966 at Houston, Harris, Texas and is buried at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas along with his wife Norie.
