Maria Margaretta, daughter of Martin Zerbe and Anna Elizabeth Jungel, was born 13 Feb 1715 in West Camp, Ulster County, Livingston Manor, New York. She was baptized Maria Margretha at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in West Camp, Ulster, New York on 13 Feb 1715; sponsors Henrich Widerwachs, Maria Margretha Barthelin, and Maria Margretha Frehdin.
In 1723 she moved with her family to the Tulpehocken region of northwestern Berks County, Pennsylvania. She was married in 1734 to Albrecht Strauss in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania. They had 11 children, all born in Berks County, Pennsylvania:[1]
Maria Margaretta died in Berks County, in May 1787, aged 72 years. She was buried in Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bernville, Berks County, Pennsylvania.[6]
