Biography

Mittie (Wilborn) Guydon is a part of US Black heritage.

Mittie was born about 1879 to James Manuel Wilborn and Mary Marvel. ^{[1] [2]}

She first married Wesley Ramsey,^[3] and they had the following children: ^[4]

She later married Sam Guydon Sr. ^[7] Their children were:

4. Earl Guydon 1919-1974

She passed away in 1930.

• It is likely Mittie who is in this 1880 census. Support includes sister Hattie (H A), parents (James Monroe or Manuel - J M) and mother Mary (M B). Her birthdate is possibly an issue; it ranges anywhere from 1878 to 1885 in other records. Weatherall-96 05:20, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

  • On her own death certificate (1930), her husband Sam recorded her father as "James Manuel". I have looked into people named James Manuel, found nothing relavent for that as a first name and surname, and I believe that Sam intended to write James Manuel Wilborn. In the 1880 census, he is recorded as J.M. Wilborn.
  • Another record- Mittie's sister, Hattie Wilborn Morris, died in 1949, and her death record has the parents: Jim Wilbourn and Mary Marvel.

• Idorra Guydon seems to only appear in the 1920 census, so I presume she passed away sometime between then and the 1930 census. Weatherall-96 06:16, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
