Chronology of Denis Bond
This chronology was compiled by Denis Bond, the grandson of the subject of this profile (son of John of Melcombe Regis) The manuscript contains dated entries for family and national events. Some including the ones cited on this profile occured before Denis's birth in 1588.The manuscript also includes several pedigrees drawn by him. Denis was no fool (he was appointed one of the commisioners to try King Charles I but avoided serving and signing the death warrant, he became the President of Cromwell's council) Although he copied one elaborate pedigree sold to his brother by a herald he proclaimed 'I believe it not'. Hutchins was aware of this manuscript and may have used it in his account of the family. The manuscript was retained by the family but has now been deposited at the Dorset Archives. I have some photos of the manuscript but because of the terms of the photography licence cannot upload them to wikitreeColeman-5109 18:20, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
