Emily Keene
This is from a typewritten family genealogy complied by my grandfather with the help of a professional genealogist in 1946. His name was Ernest Henry Keene and he was the son of Henry Samuel Bisbee Keen(e). Prior to his discharge from the Union Army, he used the "Keen" spelling, but at some point during the war, he began using the final "e", as his discharge papers showed it. According to his granddaughter, Katherine Mildred Keene (now deceased) he added it, "because it looked better".
