Marriage Polly Ford and John Mason Dighton Mas

Dighton Mass . marriage of Polly Ford and John Mason 1798 record. It clearly states “of Dighton” For Mary Polly.

I believe this is where the name Polly got changed to Molly. The P in Polly is smeared and was transcribed as M vs P. Other then here, all other records has her name Mary Polly. I believe her grave stone stating “born in Dighton “and marriage record stating “of Dighton”, and her name being Mary Polly not Molly, makes it very unlikely that she is the daughter , Molly of Joseph and Freelove Ford. Joseph and Freelove Ford left Massachusetts between 1780-1790 with all their children. It is very unlikely they would have left a child in Dighton, when the rest of their children are recorded in New York with them. There are several Fords in the Dighton area, that are more likely to be her parents! It appears Mary Polly moved to Rhode Island after marriage and never recorded in New York.
