This document is in the public domain.
Can you explain why (context, kinship or mere mentions?) the people who are tagged as belonging in this source are included? (I can't read it, as I have difficulty reading cursive.) It would be useful to explain relationships that do not seem to be mentioned between Jane Gower (presumably, the primary person in the document: again, unexplained) on the profiles that I checked, and at least provide a comment on the profiles, if not an update to the profiles, for each of the tagged persons who are presumptively mentioned in the document. That would be a huge help! Thanks.
A transcript of the will is available on Jane's profile at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hatcher-51#Death_.26_Legacy. Priscilla (Baugh) Farrar is her daughter and I note the will mentioning Priscilla's children on her profile, which I manage. This includes William Farrar IV and Abel Farrar. Anyone is free to note this will on applicable profiles. I added Mary Cox to the image list and the will is noted on her profile.
Thanks very much. I first looked at William IV and Abel, and didn't see any mention/immediate connection or linkback to her profile. I finally surmised the connection after examining the deeper generations. The descendants who are named will greatly benefit from having the connection made clear as this is a primary source. I recommend the following, minor edit, that further explains the scope and power of the source:
- Virginia. County Court (Henrico County). County Court Records, Deeds, Wills, Settlements of Estates, Etc., (Henrico County, Virginia), 1677-1787. Salt Lake City, Utah: Genealogical Society of Utah, 1947. "1697-1714", p. 35-6 (FHL Film 31764, image 398 and 399 of 690). Jane (Hatcher) Gower Henrico County, Virginia 7 Dec 1710 Will, proved 5 Jan 1711. Also citing Henrico County Records Deeds & Wills, 1710-1714, p 35-36.
Thanks again!
