This tartan needs to be removed from every profile on this website. It is purely a commercial production. There are only 4 authorized tartan and needless to say this isn't one of them. The Black Watch tartan should replace it. Thanks.
Thank you for your interest, CR. The Ancient Campbell tartan, whichwe are aware is prefered by the Chief, is also available here. It is up to individual profile managers to determine which tartan they would like to use. I agree that the Clan chief determines which he considers is the "official" clan tartan, but it is not up to us to be tartan police on WikiTree. Members are free to use any background they choose, be it tartan or polka dots. Our goal is to simply ensure that images are not breaking copyright and are appropriately labeled.
I'm not trying to dictate what people use on their pages. The image's inclusion in the Clan Campbell sticker is what prompted my post.
The stickers can be designed with any image desired, even say a St. George's cross or Stars & Stripes: there's no way to restrict the image used. It's up to the user to decide which image to use. There's a G2G post here that explains how to "create" a clan sticker.
I agree the Black Watch tartan should replace it.
This image is for use of members for whatever purpose they decide, be it profile wallpaper/banner or for stickers. It is clearly marked as not officially recognized by the Clan Campbell.
Just because something is created and listed in the register, it isn't necessarily authorized by the Clans.

Ditto. :) My thoughts exactly when I saw it. Oddly enough, before I got into genealogy i had a flannel shirt with it from a well known mail order company.
