Thank you Laura,

Here is one man who is mentioned in the Civil War Love Stories (a great read) see page #152. Surgeon Harvey Black he has a interesting story. The book goes into some great details of the letters home and his wartime experience.

When the Civil War broke out he volunteered with the 1st Brigade of the 4th Viriginia Regiment, which became known as the Stonewall Brigade. On August 2, 1861, he was appointed Regimental Surgeon for the 4th Regiment.
