enlisted at Boston and was from Canada surprises me. I never knew Sanders to desert, and never knew but one Sanders in my company. I never knew a white man in my Company Except the officers.
I do not know the address of any member of my company except Jos[eph] Rice 1182 Mt. Vernon St[reet] Camden N.J.
I am not interested and am correctly recorded herein.

but I know nothing of that. I can't swear he did not, but I do not know anything about it. The regiment left Morris Island S[outh] C[arolina] on Thanksgiving day of 1864 and went to Honey Hill where the battle was fought. I was not with the company at this battle, but joined the company at Charleston S.C. in M[ar]ch 1865 and I recall Sanders with it then and I do not know of any wounds he was suffering from or afterward in service.
There was no battle known as Bunker Hill to my knowledge that my regiment was engaged in.
I never knew Sanders was known by any other name. My recollection is he was a Jerseyman and from Burlington, N[ew] J[ersey] and your information that he claims to have
