"Sultan Khuda Dad Khan [Khudkai Sultan], Sultan of Safa and Chief of the Alus Abdali. b. before 11th February 1614, elder son of Khwaja Khizr Khan, Governor of Safa and Chief of the Alus Abdali. Disputed the succession of his cousin, Shah Husain Khan. Defeated him and seized control of Safa 1649. Extended his rule over a wide area between Kaseghar and Kandahar, including Argistan, but not including the Fort of Kandahar. Assumed the title of Sultan. m. Murad Bibi. He d. 14th August 1665, having had issue, three sons (ancestor of the Sultan-khel and Khudakka Saddozai)"[1][2]
