I am coming from Geni so am used to working with a world tree but I'm really struggling here in Wiki with the impossible Wiki Language! I've been going round and round so much that I'm getting dizzy!

I don't understand how to add a lady's former last name in the situation where a partner dies and the lady remarries.

"Other Last Names This field could be called Alternate Last Names or Last Name Variations.

It could be used for alternative spellings that appear in the records.

This and the Other Nicknames fields are the ones that can include multiple names. Separate these with commas." doesn't help.

Also I'm spending almost a day trying to get each profile recorded on my tree. This is simply exhausting and I'm close to giving up! I can't make out or see the difference in the 'help notes' so just keep deleting, shuffling words & symbols to no avail. If I get a profile in with a certificate it's purely fluke!

Hi Terry,

If you are still having issues with this, you may want to check out the help pages. Start here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Name_Fields

Example-9 and Example-2 appear to represent the same person because: These really need to be merged.

I'm looking to find out if anyone knows Mom Sample's middle name.

Someone said it was Mildred. Is that right?

posted by Chris Whitten
Yes. Mildred is fittingly silly. I love this sample profile.
