Marguerite was the daughter of Henri IV d'Avaugour and Jeanne d'Harcourt. She was firstly married to Hervé VII de Léon (son of Hervé VI de Léon and Jeanne de Montmorency). She was secondly married to Geoffroy de Vaulx. [1]
Henri Ier d'Avaugour (died early 1183), Count de Trégor and Goëlo from 1137 to 1183, son of Étienne de Bretagne, count of Penthièvre. His son, Alain Ier d'Avaugour or Penthièvre (born about 1151 - 1154 , died on 29 December 1212 ), Lord of Goëlo and Count of Penthièvre . Married to Pétronille de Beaumont in Maine. Founder of Beauport Abbey . His son, Henri II of Avaugour ( 16 January 1205 - October 6, 1281 ), Son of Alain I d'Avaugour, was a great Breton nobleman, Count of Goelo, Count of Penthievre, Lord of Avaugour and Dinan . He was briefly appointed as the future Duke of Brittany (1209-1213). Stripped of the county of Penthièvre by Pierre Mauclerc in 1222, retaining only the Goëlo and the fortresses of Lanvollon , Chatelaudren and Avaugour, it took the name of Avaugour. Remarried with Marie de Beaumont-sur-Oise, dame de Brétigny. From the first marriage are born four sons who have made strain: Alain; Henry III. Juhel, lord of Kergrois, married twice and who gives the branch of Courtalain , whose descendants are a stock in Champagne; Henri, Lord of Goello. His son, Henri III of Avaugour (1260-1301), married with Marie de Brienne. His son, Henri IV of Avaugour (1280- 1 February 1334 ), Married in 1305 to Jeanne d ' Harcourt His daughter, Jeanne d'Avaugour , (about 1300- 28 July 1327 ), Married to Guy de Penthièvre (younger brother of Duke John III of Brittany , son of Arthur II marries Marie Vicomtesse de Limoges ), which allows the reconstitution of the appanage of Penthièvre whose ancestors had been despoiled. Another of his daughters, Marguerite d'Avaugour (1302- 20 June 1375 ) First married Hervé VII of Léon , then Geoffroy de Vaulx. His daughter Jeanne de Penthièvre (1324-1384) married Charles de Blois the 4 June 1337 .[2]
