Hannah was born in 1757, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Lathrop) Bartlett, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where she was raised.
On April 9, 1775, Hannah married Isaiah Doane, the son of Elisha and Hope (Rich) Doane, in Plymouth. They would settle in Boston and have the following children:

Isaiah was known as a caring man willing to help people in need. As he was serving as President of the Board of Health he contracted Yellow Fever while carrying out his duties in 1798. Isaiah never really got over it. He died in 1805 at 51 years of age. Hannah would live on until 1814 when she died at 56 years old. Their bodies are buried in the Kings Chapel Burying Ground in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
