Biography

Margaret MacCollo (also McCollo, McKollo) was probably the daughter of Archibald and Margaret (Melvin) MacCollo of Marlborough, Massachusetts. Her parentage is largely based on her Concord, Massachusetts, marriage record in which she is cited with a very similarly spelled surname as "Margrett McCollo" of Rutland. Her presumed parents are known to have lived in Concord because Concord records cite the births of "John MacKollo" (1724) and "Eleazer McKollo" (1727), sons of "Archibald McKollo" or "MacKollo" and his wife "Margerit" or "Margret." Her parents sold their Concord home in 1728 which may have been when they removed from Concord. This may explain the lack of birth information for Margaret, but she could have been born before they arrived there as well. Based on her marriage date, she may have been born about 1725.^{[1][2][3][4][5]}

On April 2, 1745, she married, in Concord, Massachusetts, John Parlin, son of John Parlin, Jr. and Mary Heald of Concord. They had twelve children:^[1][2][3]
