Isaiah Holmes was born Mar 14 1787 in Groton, Connecticut. His parents were Nathaniel Holmes (1760-1850) and Mary (Adams) Holmes (1760-1846) ^[1][2]

He married 1st Sally Richards Jan 3 1813 in Winfield, New York. She was b. Mar 9 1794 in Litchfield, New York, dau of Daniel Richards and Sarah Slosson. She died Jul 8 1843 South Richland. ^[2] Isaiah and Sally had the following children: ^[2]

He married 3rd Mrs. Martha Melvina Thompson Nov 23 1866 in Holmesville, a part of Richland, New York [Note: This statement probably has confused two different locations in New York State. Richland was (is) in Oswego County, whereas Holmesville is a small hamlet in Chenango County, about 75 miles distant from each other.] She was b Feb 12 1829, dau of Elijah Dana and Eunice Kingsley. She was widow of William D Thompson. She married later Erastus D Wyman Nov 26 1876. ^[2] His last child was born when he was almost 81 years old. Isaiah and Martha had the following children: ^[2]
