Note
There is no conflicting evidence to this Hannah (Smith) Lawrence heritage or genealogy, there may be others but she is the one with this Family, the evidence is that she is the mother of this set of children and this set of parents because the records that support her are unbroken in this lineage.
Origin
Hannah was the daughter of Henry Smith [TAG 10:174].[1] Hannah's parentage is proved by the will of Henry Smith, in which he bequeathed to his grandson, John Knapp [FOOF 1:575].[1]
Marriage and Children
Hannah married by 1661 (eldest child born Stamford 24 Nov 1661) at Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut, to Caleb Knapp.[1]
Death and Legacy
Hannah Smith, wife of Caleb Knapp, did not die in 1685! It was her step-mother, Anne (?????)(Andrews) Smith, who died at that time. Hannah, wife of Caleb Knapp is mentioned in the Will of her father in Jul 1687, but not mentioned in the Will of her second husband, Thomas Lawrence, Jr. Thus she died between 4 Jul 1687, the date her father died & dated his Will and 1691, when Thomas Lawrence, Jr made his Will in which he mentions his step-son, John Knapp, but not his wife, Hannah.
Anne (?????)(Andrews) Smith, was not the daughter of Giles Smith as many early writings are want to claim.
