Research Notes

1. Sarah's birth date has been given as 3 February 1642/3^[1] and as 6 February^[5]. The handwritten record^[1] states "3d of the 12th month 1642." The 12th month being February.
2. Sarah and Stephen's marriage place has been given as Cambridge and as Watertown.^[5]
3. The Find A Grave memorial does not list any sources. There is no photograph of the headstone.
4. A death date and place for Sarah has been given as 21 October 1705/6 in Stow, Middlesex County, Massachusetts; however, on Sept. 15, 1707 the Will of Stephen Gates was "exhibited by Sarah Gates therein named exec."
