John, son of Andrew Hallet Jr. was born in Yarmouth, Plymouth Colony. Otis genealogical notes of Barnstable Families says on p 506 that he was born 11 Dec 1650 and on p 509 says he was born 11 Dec 1648. Anderson's Great Migration says 1650. This is verified in the Plymouth Colony Records vol 7 p 12: "Beirthes of Children ... John Hallot December the Eleventh 1650.
John Hallett and Mary Howes married the 16th of February 81[1] ]
Corporal in Capt. John Gorham’s Company in King Phillip’s War. In 1682 he was the 2nd in wealth and was constable of Yarmouth. He was not taxed in Yarmouth in 1676. He was a man of more note than his brother, Jonathan, as the Mr. affixed to his name indicates. John Constable of Yarmouth in 1682 and held other offices.
John’s will of 14 May 1725 names his children then living. He and wife Mary Howes Hallett are both buried in the Ancient Burying Ground, Yarmouth…” [1]

(John Hollett, the elder) was an extensive landholder. Hollet's island, near 'the stepping stones,' now retains his name. He was in Scituate, or rather had lands assigned to his right, in 1668.
"He was probably at Yarmouth in 1650, in which year his son John was there born."
