Biography

Thomas Windsor of Stanwell (b. 1441 Stanwell, Middlesex - 29 Sep 1485 Stanwell).[1][2][1]

Thomas Windsor of Stanwell[3] fought on Richard III's side at the Battle of Bosworth. In his will, dated 13 Aug 1479, he lists: The late Dame Alice Wyche (wife's aunt), Elizabeth his wife, Andrews his son, John Andrews (father in law), Elizabeth wife of John Andrews (mother in law), Anthony Windesore his youngest son, William Windsor his son, Anne his unmarried daughter, Elizabeth his married daughter (married to Richard Fowler), Alice his married daughter (married to George (or Wm?) Puttenham), His cousin John Catesby.

  1. Weis (2004), writes the LNAB as Windor... it might be a spelling error? However, the name Windor does exist.
  2. the source cited does indeed have their marriage as "abt. 1483", which cannot be right if Elizabeth Andrew is the mother of the two sons named Andrew, the 2nd Andrew was Thomas's heir, born Feb. 1467 (per Richardson - see Elizabeth's profile).
