Eliphalet Carpenter of Woodstock, gentleman, died intestate and on 20 September 1748, his widow Abigail was granted the administration of his estate.[3]
His inventory was taken on 30 October 1748 in Woodstock. His widow Abigail gave an oath to the inventory.[4]
In 1749, an account of his estate by his widow Abigail was recorded which included debts paid, appraisers, provisions for the livestock, mourning for the widow, selling the real estate, gravestones, and administration fees.[5]
In 1749, his estate was set out to his widow, Abigail, and his children, Eliphalet Carpenter (eldest son), Joseph Carpenter, John Carpenter, Martha, wife of Benjamin Bartholomew, Mary, wife of Manasseh Horsmer, Dorcas, wife of Ephraim Horsmer, the heirs of Rebecca Bacon, late wife of Joseph Bacon, Sarah, wife of Caleb Grosvenor, Dorothy Carpenter, William Carpenter, Abigail Carpenter, and Daniel Carpenter.[6]
