Biography

  • The published record of the death of Lydia gives two dates of death. The first as 19 May 1645 and an alternative reading of the record as 19 May 1648, taken from the copy of Newbury vital records created by Henry Short abt 1690. If we accept Henry Short's version then there was only ONE daughter named Lydia. If we accept these are separate records then there were TWO daughters named Lydia. This profile follows Anderson's belief that the 1645 date is a an error and that there was only one Lydia who died in 1648.

Morse-442 and Morse-249 appear to represent the same person because: Jonathan,

I think the mother you show, Ann Cox, may be the correct one, so please keep her as mother. Thanks.

I am correcting Lydia's father. She was shown as the daughter of her brother Anthony, not her father.
