According to Vivian's Visitations of Cornwall (p. 229), Robert Hill's wife was Isabel Wadham, daughter of John Wadham by Elizabeth, daughter of William Shilston, which (assuming that Isabel Wadham was her mother's heiress), would explain how Shilston came into the possession of the Hill family. However, John Wadham's will mentions wives named Maud and Joan (widely assumed, apparently without evidence, to be Joan Wrothesley), but not Elizabeth (or a daughter Isabel, for that matter), casting doubt on Vivian's identification of Isabel's mother.
At this point, Isabel's mother has to be considered to be unknown.
