Biography

Thomas was born January 18, 1707 in Ashford, Windham, Connecticut to Thomas Chapman and Anna Kettell. He married Mary Throope on January 26, 1729 in Lebanon, New London, Connecticut. On January 3, 1731 their first son, Thomas, was born in Ashford Township, Windham, Connecticut.^[1] On November 26, 1732 they were blessed with the birth of their first daughter who they named Mary.^[2] July 2, 1735 brings the birth of their second daughter, Martha, in Ashford Township, Windham, Connecticut^[3] Their next daughter, Bethshua, was also born in Ashford Township, Windham, Connecticut on June 11, 1737.^[4] The next child found is son Throope born March 25, 1739 in Ashford Township, Windham, Connecticut.^[5] On November 21, 1741 the couple welcomes son William into their Ashford Township, Windham, Connecticut home,^[6] Daughter Sybbel was born on August 4, 1744 also in Ashford Township,^[7] Daughter Ann was born next on September 13, 1746 also in Ashford Township.^[8] The couple had a son Joseph who was born May 9, 1747 while they continued to live in Ashford Township.^[9] Elias was born May 26 1749 while they were still living in Ashford Township.^[10] Thomas died March 2, 1793 in Ashford Township, Windham, Connecticut^[11] and is buried in Swamp Burying Ground, Ashford, Windham County, Connecticut, USA.^[12]
