Biography
Son of Joseph Hiram Carter (1820–1906) and Nancy Elizabeth Turner Carter (1824–1882).
He married first in 1880 Violet Smith.
After her death in 1895, he married Dora Ann Shirley (1856–1919), the widow of Hiram Cochran.
