Frederick J. White was born about 1859 in Killingly, Windham, Connecticut, United States, son of Henry Arnold White (1824–1885) and Amy Frances Oatley (~1826–1864).^[1]

In 1860, Frederick was living with his mother, Amy F (33); his sister, Emily A (12); and Henry A White (35), Ellen F White (45), Juleitte White (13), and Fred J White (1/12). ^{[1] [2]}

In 1870, Frederick (10)'s occupation was 'at school'. He was living in Killingly, Windham with his brother, Henry I (17); and Henry A White (44), Almira E White (28), George W Winslow (8), Hosea E Green (21), Mary J Green (18), and Percy T Green (4/12). ^[3]
