Biography

Gabriel Tetherly, son of William Tetherly, was christened on 1 Jan 1622 in Northam, Devon, England^[1]

Gabriel Tetherly married Susanna, widow of Richard King.^[2] Gabriel and Susanna had three children: William, Mehitable, and Elizabeth.^[3]

Gabriel was reportedly a shipwright/fisherman. Per Stackpole, Gabriel bought land near the Boiling Rock (Kittery/Eliot) in 1660. Gabriel and Susanna were both living as of 1695.^[4] Administration of his estate granted to his son in law Richard King 20 May 1696.

The estate administration was granted to Richard King, "his father in law". Gabriel's daughter, Elizabeth West also appeared before the court. His date of death of 10 December 1695 is recorded in the heading of his inventory which was taken on 21 January 1695/96 in Kittery.^[5]
