Some time in April last, Newton S. WORDEN, a well known citizen of St. Stephen, committed suicide by blowing out his brains with a revolver because of an alleged discrepancy in his accounts, which discrepancy his employer discovered. The unfortunate man carried a policy of insurance on his life, made payable to his wife. The latter presented no claim at the time for her husband's insurance, thinking that the perculiar circumstances of his death would nullify any claim. H.A. Austin, the agent of the company in St. John, forwarded the papers to Mrs. Worden a short time ago with the request that the blanks be filled in and that he would forward the same to head office regarding payment of the claim. Before the wife could present this application, she had to administer upon the estate of the deceased. Before the case was concluded in probate, the widow, who with her only son had been residing with her father at Vanceboro, Me., died and now it will be necessary for friends of those who are likely to become the guardian of the orphan boy to make another administration of the estate. - 'Telegraph'
