Biography

Thomas Erskine, son of Henry Erskine, Lord Cardross and Catherine Stewart was baptised in the parish of Edinburgh, Midlothian on 19 June 1691.^[1][2]

Thomas Erskine married Rachel Libberton on 15 June 1721.^[2]

Thomas and Rachel had five children baptised in Edinburgh:

1. Katharine Erskine (bp 22 May 1722)^[3]
2. John Erskene (bap 14 September 1725)^[4]
3. Katherin Erskin (bap 13 March 1727)^[5]
4. Rachell Erskin (bap 31 May 1728)^[6]
5. Katherin Erskin (bap 11 August 1729)^[7]

Thomas Erskine died on 14 January 1731 and was buried in Edinburgh on 20 January 1731, aged 40.^[2][8] Thomas' inventory was confirmed in Edinburgh Commissary Court on 8 August 1733^{[9] [10]}

I have detached this profile (Erskine-232) from his previous wife (Eleanor Stephenson) and children as he died almost 60 years before that claimed marriage & there is no evidence he was ever in the United States or Ireland Templeton-1883 17:07, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
