Biography
George Getchell was born in 1853. He is the son of Marshfield Getchell and Martha Holmes. [1]
On 20 Jun 1870 at the time of the 1870 US Census, head of household Marshfield Getchell (age 48, born in ME) was employed as a Surveyor of Lumber and living on real estate valued at $800 with personal property worth $700 in Maine, USA with his wife Martha J. Getchell (age 44, born in ME), son Lysander W. Getchell (age 22, born in ME), son Deola Getchell (age 19, born in ME), son George B. Getchell (age 17, born in ME), daughter Dora M. Getchell (age 15, born in ME), daughter Nellie Getchell (age 13, born in ME), George Flynn (age 38, born in ME) and Thurza Flynn (age 26, born in ME). Lysander and Deola worked in the saw mill. [2]
