Biography

Jacob N. House was born on March 7, 1796 in Columbia, Herkimer, New York,^[1] where he became a farmer.^[2][3] The "N" does not stand for a middle name, but represents his father's given name, Nicholas. He married, first, Catherine Guitman^[4] and, second, Mary Ann Jaynes. He died December 21, 1853.^[5]
