Margaret (Cochrane) Cochrane Countess of Eglinton was born in Scotland.

Margaret was the daughter of William Cochrane and Catherine Kennedy.[1]

She married, on 7 Dec 1676, Alexander Montgomerie, 9th Lord Elginton:[2]
