Biography

John Hyde was born September 2, 1783, in New Marlborough, Massachusetts, a son of Major John Hyde, a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, and his first wife, Lois Wheeler. On September 18, 1804, in New Marlborough, John married Rhoda Kellogg, born February 26, 1785, in Berkshire county, a daughter of Joel Kellogg and Desire Olds.

"According to the book The Kelloggs in the Old World and the New, he died the summer of 1860. He was a shoemaker in Wolcott, Sodus, Rose and Huron, Wayne Co., N. Y." ^[1]
