Elizabeth was born on 12 November 1818 and baptised Eleanor Elisabeth at St Margaret King's Lynn five days later. Her parents were William, a sawyer, and Susan.[1]
She married George Drain on 8 April 1838, also at St Margaret. He was a mariner and she was a servant. His father was Thomas Drain, a boat wright.[2]
George and Elizabeth had nine children from the GRO Index:
Susannah 3Q 1842
Susannah 4Q 1843
Eleanor 1Q 1846
Susannah 4Q 1847
George 1Q 1850
Elizabeth 1Q 1852
Sarah 1Q 1856
Caroline 2Q 1859
George 3Q 1861
However at the 1841 census there was a two year old George in the household.[3] [Perhaps the record for George above was really from 1840]
At the 1851 census only Eleanor aged 5 and Susanna aged 3 are in the household.[4] In 1861 the children were Eleanor aged 16, Sarah aged 5 and Caroline aged 2.[5]
Elizabeth died in 1873 and was buried at St Margaret on 23 January.[6]
Research Notes
Another William and Susan Skipper were baptising children in Weasenham at this time, including one in May 1818. No obvious siblings for Elizabeth have been identified. William probably married Susan Nobes at St Margaret with St Nicholas King's Lynn on 8 October 1818. For some reason there was a delay after the banns were read on three Sundays in April.

This profile was originally attached as wife to Samuel Steward, and this was the basis for the sources. However the mother's name for the children of Samuel was Royal. All of the dates/places are based on those census sources and are therefore untrustworthy. Adopting to a real person, Eleanor Elisabeth Skipper.
