At two o'clock Sunday morning three small buildings at the extreme northern end of North Front street were destroyed by fire. The flames originated in a small unoccupied wooden building and spread to an adjoining tenement house occupied by Dennis Shea, Hannah Shea, and Daniel Doyle, also to a smaller tenement owned and occupied by Catherine O'Brien. The latter had no insurance, but upon the Shea property there was an insurance of $1,100. The furtniture, etc., of the tenement was rescued only in part, and Shea lost a calf and a lot of poultry which were in the out-buildings.
