Biography

Jeremiah Coburn was probably born in Dracut about 1710, the son of Ezra and Lucy (Nelson) Colburn.[1]

By 1736 Jeremiah Coburn had married Sarah Jewell,[1] daughter of Thomas and Martha (Blood) Jewell of Dunstable.

Jeremiah Colburn and his son Jeremiah Colburn, Jr., were shown as first settlers between 1760 and 1781,[2] but were gone by 1781.[3]

Jeremiah's children[1] were said to have all removed together in 1761 from Dunstable to the eastern side of the Kennebec River to what was later called "Coburntown" in Gardiner, Maine.[4]
