Biography
Descendant of Ann (Suncloud) Luker, of the Lenni-Lenape Nation.
Joseph was born in 1775. He was the son of John Luker and Laura (Burette) Luker . He passed away in 1847.
- 1810 – purchased 100 acres from William B. Hayes between Buchanan and Bradshaw Creek for $550 (Giles County)
- 1812 – resided in Giles County, Tennessee (1812 Tax List)
- 1818 Oct 18 - purchased 100 acres of land on the headwaters of Bradshaw Creek from Zenas Alexander agent of Samuel Polk V.
- 1820 - Resided in Giles County, Tennessee[1]
- 1827 – received 40 acres of land from Sterling C. Robertson
- 1836 - Resided on 200 acres in District 10, Giles County, Tennessee[2]
- 1840 - Resided in Giles County, Tennessee; owned three slaves[3]
- 1843 – sold 137 acres of land to his son Isaac Luker (Giles Co. Land Records B-R 1843, p 525)
- 1847 - Burial: family cemetery between Buchanan and Bradshaw Creeks
