Biography

Katherine was the illegitimate daughter of Andrew Brereton and an unknown mother.[1]

Katherine had a half-sister, Katherine Smyth nee Brereton, the daughter of Agnes DeLeigh, who was married to Sir Thomas Smith of Hough.[1]

Katherine married William Bowyer of Knipsley[1] /Knipersley, the son of John Bowier of Knipersley and his wife Elizabeth the daughter of Lewson of Wolv'hampton in co Stafford.[2]

Katherin and William had children:

  1. Anne, oldest daughter, married John Wedgwoode;[2]
  2. Maulde, married Richard Edge of Horton co Stafford;[2]
  3. Alice, married Richard Sergenat of Bagenhould co Staff;[2]
