Darius was born July 18, 1833 in Greene County, New York. He was the son of Ezra Oliver and Hester Crandall.

Darius was married to Hannah Odell. They relocated from Greene County, New York to Delaware County, New York. They had twelve children together.

He passed away in 1915, burial was in the Meredith Square Cemetery, Meredith, Delaware County, New York. ^[1]
