Biography

Sarah was born before 1660 to Francis Thurlow (1630-1703) and Anne (Morse) Thurlow (1634-1678),^[1] likely in Newbury, Massachussetts Bay, as this is where all of her siblings were born. No birth records have been found for her so there is some speculation that she may indeed be the same person as her sister Elisabeth, born in 1656.^[2]

Sarah married newly widowed William Danford about spring, 1679. Their first child Richard was born January 31 of 1679/80.^[3][4] More children followed: John in 1681^[5][6], Jonathan in 1685^[7], Thomas in 1688^[8], Francis in 1690^[9], and Joseph in 1694.^[10]

The family lived in Newbury where all of the children were born. Sarah's husband William received land in Newbury from Sarah's father as stated in a January, 1696/7 deed, although Sarah did not give up her dowry rights to the land until September 2, 1702, nearly two years after William had sold it.^[11][1] The change in dowry rights was the last record of Sarah so it is presumed she died shorly thereafter that time.
