Biography

Elias Phelps was born in about 1801 in Windsor, Connecticut to Zerah (Zarah) Phelps and Mariam (Robe) Phelps.^[1]

Elias married Orpha (Phelps) Phelps (b. Massachusetts in 1811) and was a farmer.^[1],^[2] Elias and Orpha had several children including Alford (Alferd) Phelps (b. abt 1837 in MA), Julia (Phelps) Hatch (b. abt 1840 in MA), Joseph Phelps (b. abt 1842 in MA), Myron E. Phelps (b. abt 1858 in MA).^[2] In 1865, Milo Phelps (age 47) was also residing with Elias and Orpha.^[2]

Elias passed away at the age of 71 in Becket, Massachusetts^[1] and is buried in Otis Center Cemetery in Otis, Massachusetts.
