James McCutchen

1796 May 23. Born to Samuel and Catherine Bell McCutchen of Davidson County, Tennessee, (land that later became Williamson County). ^{[citation needed]}

1811 Apprenticed to tailoring business.^{[citation needed]}

1814 Entered military service – War of 1812.^{[citation needed]}

1823 January 9. Married Ellen Edmiston.^{[citation needed]}

1830-1864 Lived in Williamson County; was administrator of many estates; was Treasurer of Nashville-Hillsborough Turnpike Company; and was an active member of the Harpeth Presbyterian Church.^{[citation needed]}

The 1850 Federal Census, however, shows him born in Kentucky. He was living next to his widowed mother at that time. He was the owner of 12 slaves in 1850.^{[citation needed]}

The "child" appearing above is in his household in the 1850 and 1860 census though he is not explicitly identified as his child and may not be. ^{[citation needed]}

1864 Died in Williamson Co, TN and was an active member of the Harpeth Presbyterian Church.^{[citation needed]}
