Notes
Note N4Clement E Dickson ( a/k/a Clement A Dickson) signed a "Declaration of Intention" on the 30th day of August 1919 to become a naturalized American Citizen. The application states that he intended "to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, and particularly to George V King of Great Britain and Ireland of whom I am now a subject". His signature on the form clearly shows him spelling his middle name with an "E" as does his marriage license. But later in life, he frequently used "A". As a matter of fact, his son, Clement, used "Alexis" as his middle name throughout his life but was rarely referred to as a "Junior". Clement also swore on his immigration documents that he was neither an anarchist nor a polygamist!
